Description
The Radical Evolution of Cataract Surgery
Presented by Dongmei Chen, MD, PhD
Dr. Chen will walk through the fascinating evolution of cataract surgery—from ancient couching techniques to today’s micron-level, digitally guided procedures—and discover how modern surgical precision drives exceptional patient outcomes. Through surgical videos and clinical correlations, this course helps ophthalmic staff better understand and communicate the cataract surgery journey while building pride in the care they provide. Optometrists will gain valuable insight into how critical surgical steps influence early post-op findings such as corneal edema, IOP spikes, lens tilt, and refractive outcomes, while exploring the role of advanced technologies like ORA® and Callisto® in achieving predictable results for toric and multifocal IOL patients.
Attendance is offered virtually or in person for optometrists, and virtually only for staff. Please contact Allyson Tebon with any questions at Allyson.tebon@baycareclinic.com
This course has been submitted for 1 hour of CE credit for IJCAHPO certified staff, WI ODs, and MI ODs.
