Medich Family Scholarship for Global Health Education
The purpose of the Medich Family Scholarship for Global Health Education is to encourage University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH) students enrolled in the Wisconsin Academy of Rural Medicine (WARM) Program to participate in a global health experience during their medical school education by defraying the costs of such an experience. A global health experience not only helps broaden the student’s awareness and perspective regarding how healthcare is provided in other societies, but it helps build intercultural bridges with other medical professionals and patients. Such an experience also helps develop the maturity, resourcefulness, and commitment essential to a career of providing high-quality medical care to the individual patient as well as positively impacting the health and well-being of our local and global communities.
This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance of up to $2500 per year to a UWSMPH WARM student who is seeking to participate in a global health experience.
