Dr. Hassanain Jassim, a general and bariatric surgeon at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, was featured on FOX 11’s Field House Friday segment on Good Day Wisconsin, where he shared insights into digestive health and when to seek medical care.
In the interview, Dr. Jassim explained that while indigestion, bloating, nausea, and mild abdominal pain are common, it’s important to pay attention when these symptoms become more frequent, severe, or prolonged.
“If symptoms worsen in severity, duration or frequency, those are times where you should be seeking medical attention,” Dr. Jassim said. “Red-flag symptoms like unexplained weight loss, worsening abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, bleeding, or changes in bowel habits should not be ignored.”
Dr. Jassim also discussed how his team helps patients through early evaluations such as colonoscopies, endoscopies, CT scans, and MRIs. He emphasized the importance of seeking care before complications develop.
