Reconstruction is an option for most patients who have breast cancer and almost any patient who needs a mastectomy

Each year, Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic hosts BRAs of the Bay to help close the loop on breast cancer and raise awareness of the breast reconstruction rights of breast cancer patients and those who need risk-reducing mastectomies.

This year’s event was held on October 16, 2025, at the Resch Expo—and thanks to our incredible community, we raised $41,000 for Ribbon of Hope! These funds will directly support breast cancer patients in Northeast Wisconsin.

Federal law mandates coverage of breast reconstruction surgery for most patients who have had mastectomies, even if reconstruction is delayed until after cancer treatment is completed.

Undergoing breast reconstruction can have profound physical and emotional benefits for women. It can help enhance their confidence and self-image after a mastectomy. While reconstruction may not be right for every patient, every patient should know their rights.

You can still support the cause, donations to Ribbon of Hope are welcome year-round. Just click the button below to give.

  • The primary beneficiary of our fundraising is Ribbon of Hope. ROH is a 501(c)(3) They are a 100% volunteer organization where $.97 out of each $1 raised goes to support those in our community. With a mission to be a financial, informational and emotional resource for individuals with breast cancer in Northeastern Wisconsin, Ribbon of Hope assists breast cancer patients regardless of age, gender, race or religion. Depending on the nature of the patient’s diagnosis and financial need, grant recipients typically use the funds to cover expenses such as: medical bills/mediations for treatments, living expenses, wigs, gas/transportation and prostheses/bras.

  • Yes! In 2026 we will celebrate our 12th BRAs of the Bay. The date is selected once the NFL has published their schedule. We wouldn’t want to be the people that schedule an event while there is something going on at 1265 Lombardi Ave.
