About Joshua T. Piotrowski, MD, PhD
Joshua T. Piotrowski, MD, PhD, is a urological surgeon with Aurora BayCare Clinic Urological Surgeons.
Dr. Piotrowski treats patients with issues ranging from kidney stones to incontinence to erectile dysfunction.
He specializes in HoLEP, a non-invasive laser surgery treatment for older men diagnosed with an enlarged prostate, a common disease also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH.
Dr. Piotrowski also believes strongly in providing men with contraceptive options such as vasectomies.
“For men willing to have a vasectomy for their spouse or partner, they are taking ownership in the couple’s fertility plans and that is a big step,” he says. “Hopefully, we are a urology profession that can continue to encourage” men to do so.
Dr. Piotrowski performs robotic-assisted surgical procedures such as radical prostatectomy (removal of the prostate gland), pyeloplasty (reconstruction or revision of the renal pelvis to drain and decompress the kidney) and partial nephrectomy (removal of part of the kidney). He received extensive training in robotic-assisted surgery during his urology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
He is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He also holds a Ph.D. in immunology.
Dr. Piotrowski, who grew up in the Wausau area in central Wisconsin, joined BayCare Clinic in 2020.
Away from his practice, Dr. Piotrowski enjoys spending time with his family, camping trips and cycling.
“Road biking is the greatest thing ever,” he says. “It’s so much fun to be outside and going fast.”
